“Glhynnyl and Strygwyr”: Babies from Davao, Cotabato given unique names with no vowels

Two babies from Davao City and Cotabato were given odd names that has no vowels by their parents.

Netizens couldn’t help but be amused with the two unique names of babies. The first baby born last November 10, 2020 in Davao City was named “Strygwyr Drytch Bryl Bacolod.”

According to the mother, they named their baby after a character in the mobile game DOTA o Defense of the Ancients. They simply added the “Drytch Bryl” to make it unique.

Meanwhile, the second baby is from Carmen, North Cotabato and was born last April 27. The baby was named “Glhynnyl Hylhyr Yzzyghyl Buscato.”

On Facebook, netizen Yuleses Referente proudly showed off baby Glhynnyl’s one-of-a-kind name. Posting a glimpse of the baby’s birth certificate, he wrote, “Welcome to the amazing world baby Glhynnyl Hylhyr Yzzyghyl M. Buscato. Ano na supercalifragilisticexpialidocious? LALABAN PA BA? #NoVowelEdition.”

Glhynnyl’s name was a combination of the names of the baby’s parents and grandparents.

The post quickly went viral with over 48,000 shares and 27,000 reactions. The comment section was also filled with amused and entertained netizens.

A netizen said in jest, “Ang swerte ng baby na yan, hindi siya madalas tatawagin pag recitation.” lol

Another one commented, “The parents are not thinking well haha. Unique nga pero hindi nakakatuwa dahil papahirapan niyo lang yung bata. Ano un may masabi lang na naiiba? what’s the point? haha good luck sa anak nyo sana hindi tamarin mag-aral.”

Meanwhile, a netizen defended the parents’ decision and called out rude comments. She wrote, “Hayaan n’yo ang mga magulang. Karapatan naman nila ‘yan at ang importante ay mahalin nilang mabuti ang mga bata.”
