Yam Concepcion dedicated her new teleserye “Init sa Magdamag” to the late Claire Dela Fuente.
The actress shared how she wants to honor the singer by dedicating her first lead role in a TV series.
According to Yam, she found her way to showbiz through the help of Claire. “Noong nagsisimula ako, ‘yung naka-discover sa akin si Tita Claire dela Fuente,” she said.
Yam used to be a professional drummer in a band when Claire saw her in a video. She used to be bandmates with Monty Macalino, who would become the lead vocalist of Mayonnaise. It was through that connection that Claire reached out to Yam and referred her to Viva management.
Doon kami nagkakilala. Ni-refer niya ako sa Viva,” Yam recounted.
Since then, Yam made it to a string of projects from “Rigodon” in 2012 to “Halik” in 2019.
Yam even recalled her last conversation with Claire who called her to congratulate her for her latest project.
“Nakakagulat and sobrang sad ‘yung nangyari.
Turning emotional, Yam revealed that she wants to honor Claire by dedicating her latest project to her.
So, this is for tita Claire. May her soul rest in peace,” she said.
