On Instagram, the Megastar joined other celebrities who aired their concern over the rising COVID-19 cases in the country. She posted a statistic showing Philippines as the top country among six others with the highest number of new confirmed cases.

According to Sharon, she couldn’t help but feel dismayed and prayed for the frontliners working hard to curb the spread of COVID-19. She wrote, “Ano na ba?! NUMBER 1 tayo! Pero sa ‘di magaling! Praying for us all – especially for our exhausted frontliners, the poor and hungry, the jobless, the sick, families of those who have lost their loved ones.”

She also revealed she will pray for those who don’t follow rules and corrupt officials who take advantage of the situation.

“Also for those na matitigas ang ulo at ayaw sumunod sa rules, ilang opisyal na inuuna sariling bulsa kesa sa taong bayan. God bless and have mercy on the Philippines,” Sharon added.

Sharon’s post was filled with mixed reactions from netizens. One netizen urged Sharon to make suggestions to help solve the crisis. The actress clarified that while it isn’t her job as she isn’t a government official, she pointed out a few ways that could have helped the situation.

Jusko!”
