On Facebook, the City Information Office of Angeles City posted the official statement of the Mayor announcing the relief of the personnel and a probe on the incident.

Last April 2, a video was posted by SY Music Entertainment on its social media pages where it showed uniformed personnel supposedly apprehending an individual even using an official PNP vehicle. The uniformed personnel even identified themselves as being from “Police Station 5.” Turned out the video was only a prank and was part of the ‘April Fools’ Day’ jokes.

According to Mayor Lazatin’s statement, the country has been facing a crisis due to the pandemic and it’s wrong for the PNP personnel to participate in pranks.

“It is simply unconscionable that personnel from the Angeles City Police Office would participate in such nonsensical activities,” he stated.

“These actions are disadvantageous to the best interest of the government as it not only makes use of government property for a senseless ‘prank’ but also undermines the efforts of the entire Local Government Unit to implement public health protocols. This is not the kind of conduct that the public deserves from their police officers,” the mayor clarified.
