- President Harry Roque told Vice President Leni Robredo that she is wrong and the President is always prepared
- This statement came after Robredo reacted to President Rodrigo Duterte’s tirade against her
- According to Roque, Robredo should set aside politics in these times of pandemic
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque called our Vice President Leni Robredo and asked her to set aside politics as we continue to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Roque, Robredo must stop politicizing everything because when the election comes, the people will decide who they want. His statement came after the Vice President reacted to the recent tirade of President Rodrigo Duterte against her.
“Pakiusap po, may panahon sa eleksyon, huhusgahan po ng taong bayan ang mga tatakbo,” Roque said.
He went on to remark that the Vice President must accept that Duterte is always prepared while she is always wrong.
“Nagkataon lang po talaga na kung ang presidente ay laging handa, ang vice president, laging mali. Ganoon lang po ‘yon,” he added.
In The Mangahas Interviews, Robredo aired her dismay over Duterte’s statement against her saying it’s very unbecoming of a President.
“Ang unang dating sa akin parang hindi pangulo ang nagsasalita. Pangalawa sobrang pikon,” she said as she stressed that people should be allowed to make suggestions.
“Kelangan yung tao malayang magbigay ng suggestions,” she added.
Robredo earned the ire of the President after she questioned why Sinovac vaccine was not
endorsed by the Health Technology Assessment Council (HTAC) first before the mass inoculation. She pointed out that Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca, which were granted emergency use authorization by the FDA like Sinovac, secured a recommendation from the HTAC.
Roque has been insistent to stand by the tirade of the President against the Vice President.
