Revilla joined his colleagues in congratulating Mayor Vico after he was named as one of world’s “Anti-Corruption Champions” by the US Department of State. According to Revilla, Mayor Vico’s admirable job as a public servant reminded him of Jose Rizal, the country’s national hero. He urged Mayor Vico to continue what he started.

“Ipagpatuloy mo ang ‘yong magandang nasimulan, you truly embody what our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal has said: ‘Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan,’ Thank you for being such an inspiration,” Revilla said.

“Again, Vico, congratulations. Keep up the good work. Nasa likuran mo kami,” the senator remarked.

The senator also mentioned the mayor’s parents, Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes. It can be recalled that Revilla worked with Mayor Vico’s father in the fantasy film “Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote” in 2010.

“I’m sure your father, Vic Sotto, si ‘Enteng Kabisote’, masayang-masaya ‘yon at syempre ang iyong nanay Ate Coney Reyes. Of course, your Tito ‘Tito’, our Senate President na isa magandang ring ehemplo na katulad mo,” he continued.

Mayor Vico personally visited the Senate for Senate Resolution No. 660 recognizing him for his “outstanding leadership” in Pasig City and his competent COVID-19 responce. The resolution was filed by Senators Lito Lapid, Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

Lacson admitted that he is impressed with Mayor Vico and said, “This is my very first authorship of a resolution that honors a person. This is a rare feat in public service.”
