Liza Soberano, Shay Mitchell to voice in Netflix supernatural anime series “Trese”

Liza Soberano and Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell will be the voice of the comic heroine Alexandra Trese in an upcoming Netflix anime series.

“Trese,” the upcoming Netflix anime series is based on a Filipino fantasy, comic book created by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo. The story is set in Manila where mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding amongst humans.

Liza and Shay will be lending their voice to the lead character, Alexandra Trese who is a supernatural detective who “finds herself going head to head with a criminal underworld composed of malevolent supernatural beings.”

According to Netflix PH, Liza will voice Alexandra in Filipino while Shay will voice her in English.

Like Liza, Shay is also Fil-American who was born and raised in Canada but whose mother is a Filipina from Pampanga. She shared how thrilled she is to be part of such an amazing show.

On Twitter, Liza expressed how excited she is for the upcoming project. She tweeted, “Screaming on the inside!!!!!! It’s an honor to be the voice of an iconic character such as Alexandra Trese. I’m a huge fan of Budjette and KaJO’s award-winning Trese comics. Maraming salamat! Excited na ako.”
