Vice President Leni Robredo revealed she isn’t hurt anymore by the tirade against her by President Rodrigo Duterte.
The Vice President reacted to the earlier rant aired by the President against her for her comments on the Sinovac vaccine and the mass inoculation program of the government. Speaking on “The Mangahas Interviews,“ Robredo said she refused to stoop down on low level but can only say that Duterte’s words are unbecoming of a President.
“Silver lining, at least he admitted I have an angelic face,” she said in jest but turned serious when she continued. “Karapatan niyang sabihin kung anong nasa isip niya. Para sa akin, unbecoming ‘yun,” Robredo added.
Robredo explained that in their line of work, they should not be too sensitive and should accept that there will always be critics.
“Dapat sa trabaho namin, hindi kami napipikon eh, kasi sa trabaho namin, kailangan iyong tao malayang mag-criticize eh. Kailangan iyong tao malayang magbigay ng suggestions, kasi iyon iyong makakapabuti sa aming panunungkulan,” she said.
Earlier, Duterte dared to give Robredo some money so she could “shop” for vaccines. According to Robredo, it’s too late now as she had warned about the difficulty of supply from the start.
“Ito na nga yung sinasabi natin from the very start. talagang mahihirapan tayo pag hindi tayo maagap. Kahit bigyan mo ako ng napakaraming pera, di na tayo bwelong bumili kasi late na tayo gumalaw eh,” she lamented.
