Angel Locsin admitted feeling emotional when she received a touching tribute honoring her for her efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The actress-philanthropist shared on Instagram the tribute she received from the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) for her efforts.
She was awarded the Cinemadvocate Award “for her exemplary humanitarian work that inspires all in the film industry and gives profound credence to all actors who share their talent and influence for the good of many.”
In the video, some of Angel’s closest friends praised her initiatives, including the #UniTENT project where she was able to provide tents for various hospitals around Metro Manila. It can also be recalled that Angel helped raise funds for mass testing and other humanitarian activities.
Dimples Romana shared how proud she is of Angel and all the good works she has done for the country.
She said, “I’m still in awe of how great she is as an actor and as an artist. Angel kasi has really a heart of an angel, a heart of gold. Each time something comes out — ba
gyo, lin dol, COVID, Angel is always making sure that nakakapagbigay siya, nakakatulong siya, nakakapaglingkod siya. At the time na pumu tok ang COVID, I remember that Neil and Angel were already out there.”
Angel’s fiance Neil also had nothing but good words about her values. He said, “Kapag hindi niya naipaglaban ang tama, hindi siya masaya. Being selfless is the biggest lesson I’ve learned from her — na isipin muna ang iba bago ang sarili niya.”
For her part, Angel thanked everyone who made her projects possible and also expressed her gratitude to FDCP.
