Love it or hate it but the longest- running primetime TV series is going to stay, according to a report.
Netizens and viewers were abuzz after news of ABS-CBN’s ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ ending soon circulated online.
Earlier, media outlets reported that ABS-CBN’s ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ is set to end by April 2021. A report from Inquirer said, “A source told us that the final taping week is already scheduled and many of the cast members are already aware that the show will already have its finale next month.”
Similarly, Daily Tribune also released an art card on social media with the title “Coco Martin’s ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ to finally end next month.”
To confirm the report, PEP reached out to a Kapamilya insider to confirm the impending finale of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. According to them, earlier speculations are untrue.
ABS-CBN Corporate Communications head Kane Choa stated, “It is not true” and that anofficial statement will be issued soon.
As shared by the insider of Pep, it’s true that the cast of ‘Ang Probinsyano’ has finished its sixth cycle of their lock-in taping but it doesn’t mean it’s the end of the show.
The staff will be returning for a seventh cycle next month, where they will have to film “good for more than a month na episodes.” When Pep inquired if the 7th cycle is the last, the insider said it is not.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano started airing on September 28, 2015 and has enjoyed good ratings for more than five years.
