Two Filipinos will be competing for a job offer in the upcoming TV show, “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.”
Lara Pearl Alvarez and Louie Sangalang, both born in Baguio, will compete against 14 other contestants from around the world to be named as ONE CEO and founder Chatri Sityodtong’s “apprentice.” The winner is bound to receive a US $250,000 job offer to work directly under Sityodtong in Singapore.
Facing numerous tasks, the contestants will have to show off their leadership, entrepreneurship and even athletic skills to be on top of the game. The show will feature successful CEOs as special guests and renowned mixed martial artists as guest athletes, who will help participants in their athletic and business-involved challenges.
Both Alvarez and Sangalang practice mixed martial arts.
Alvarez is an accountant and has previously trained with famed mixed martial arts stable Team Lakay. On the other hand, Sangalang is an educator and has set up his own procurement consulting firm. Truly athletic, Sangalang has a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt under Professor Fernando Salvador. He also finished the North Pole Marathon, and the inaugural Ironman Philippines in 2018.
Looking forward to a successful show despite the pandemic, Sityodtong expressed gratitude to the production team and the Singapore government for a successful project filming.
“It was an insane experience to be a part of the production of a global TV show in the middle of the pandemic. However, teamwork always makes the dream work!”
Competing against the Philippine representatives are candidates from over 11 countries. “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition” will be shown across Asia beginning March 18.
