Darryl Yap, director of the movie ‘Tililing’, has responded to Liza Soberano’s criticism of its poster.
Earlier, Liza tweeted her disappointment on the movie’s poster showing the actors making faces seemingly to show they are crazy. According to Liza, the poster seems to imply that mental health is a joke and disagrees with it.
She tweeted, “Really hoping that this movie will spread awareness and enlighten us on the struggles of dealing with mental health. But the poster? It’s a no for me. Mental health is NOT a joke. Stop the stigma.”
On Facebook, Direk Darryl responded to Liza’s tweet and assured her that the movie will not fail her in showing the importance of mental health education.
The director added that the artists involved in the movie have their own struggles on mental health and bravely accepted the project because they understood the film.
He went on to inform Liza that once she watches the movie, she will understand the reason for the title and even the intention of the movie poster’s theme.
Direk Darryl said they are one with Liza on her mental health advocacy.
“Kaisa po ninyo kami sa inyong adbokasiya. Maraming Salamat po,” he said.
