As the 2022 election draws near, more names have started surfacing for a possible presidential run. The Vice President reacted to her name being included in the possible presidentiables. According to Robredo, if she decides to run, she knows that she must be prepared for it.

“If I run for president, I need to be really ready — ready not only for the job but for the fight, and that’s where the problem is,” Robredo was quoted by Inquirer saying.

“As in all my other elections, I’m open to all possibilities. I’m okay with everything — with various positions,” she added.

However, Robredo clarified that if she has a choice, she would be happier serving in a local government post. She explained that she finds happiness in personally serving the regular folks.

“Mas masaya ako sa lokal dahil sa akin, iyong happiness ko sa paninilbihan nakukuha ko sa direct contact sa karaniwang tao, sa mga ordinary people. So kung ako…very, very honestly—kung ako may choice, mas gusto ko ng lokal,” Robredo stated.

Before becoming a vice president in 2016, Robredo served as a congresswoman in Camarines Sur. Robredo admitted that a possible presidential run is not off the table.

“Pero ako having said that na mas priority ko iyong lokal, alam kong may obligasyon ako sa national. And iyong pagpe-presidente, possible pa rin siya,” she explained.

She went on to explain that the challenge for her to make a decision is her lack of adequate resources. “Iyong sinasabi ko lang, siguro kung sufficient iyong resources ko, mas madaling mag-decide for me. Pero hindi, eh,” said the vice president.
