- Julia Montes looked back at her time spent in Pandacan, Manila
- She admitted that as a breadwinner, she didn’t get to have fun as much as her peers
- The actress also loves collecting perfume even though she only had enough money back then
Julia Montes went down memory lane to talk about her childhood and her humble beginnings before making it on showbiz.
The actress appeared on Dimples Romana’s latest vlog via her YouTube channel. Julia and Dimples worked together years ago on the remake of Mara Clara and has developed a strong friendship ever since. Dimples revealed how impressed she is with Julia’s humility. She said that even with all she has achieved, Julia remains to be easy going and simple.
“Ikaw talaga ang naalala ko kasi sobrang grounded mo as a person. Parang even when you were already doing so well,” Dimples said.
In the vlog, Julia also recalled how she has always been serious in life. Being the breadwinner of the family, Julia admitted she didn’t get to have as much fun as her peers.
“Siguro ever since seryoso talaga ako. Recently nga lang ako naging fun. Kasi nga siguro natuto na ako na i-enjoy ang life. Pero before, open kasi talaga si Lola. Open talaga siya sa akin before na sinasabi niya na ‘Huy, ‘pag di mo ‘to ginawa, ‘wala tayong pang-ano. Pambayad natin ‘to sa ano so kailangan gawin mo ‘to,” Julia said.
But if there was one hobby that Julia has always been fond of, it was collecting perfume. In fact, she has been buying perfume sold right across their house in Pandacan, Manila back when she was younger. When she finally became an actress and had enough money, perfume was also the first thing she bought for herself.
“Pabango. ‘Di ba hindi halata sa ‘kin? Pero parang wala akong collection ng ganu’n kung iispin mo. Pero ‘yun ‘yung una kong naging luho sa sarili ko. Kasi naalala ko, grade school ako, may tindahan sa namin sa Pandacan. Tinatawid ko ‘yun,” Julia said.
