A father revealed that he joined “Tawag ng Tanghalan” so he could personally thank Vice Ganda for sending his children to school.
Herbie Pultam of Antipolo City got emotional on the stage of “It’s Showtime,” when he finally got to meet Vice Ganda. He shared that as much as he is thankful to be on the show, his primary reason for joining was to extend his appreciation to Vice Ganda.
He stated, “Napakalaking oportunidad ng nangyaring ‘to. Bukod po sa gusto makasali dito at manalo, pinaka-number one po talagang sadya dito ay personal na makapagpasalamat sa inyo.”
Herbie, who works as a book factory worker and part-time ice cream vendor recalled how he met Vice Ganda last December 2017 in “I Can See Your Voice.”
At the time, Herbie disclosed how he works hard everyday just so his three children could go to school. Vice was so inspired with Herbie’s story of determination that the comedian volunteered to pay for the children’s tuition fees.
Vice admitted he could no longer remember their meeting three years ago but appreciated the kind words of Herbie. The TV host also revealed that his scholars need to maintain a certain grade, so that he could continue his support.
“Hindi ko kasi kilala ‘yung mga nasa scholarship ko. Hindi ko sila mini-meet, kasi ayoko ma-attach,” Vice Ganda said.
Herbie proudly shared that all his three children have maintained their good academic standings and are still under Vice’s scholarship program. His children are now in 3rd year college, 1st year college, and in Grade 7.
