The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan has announced that Filipinos can now apply for the Teacher Training and Japanese Studies categories of the 2021 Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program.
The Teacher Training scholarship program offers applicants the opportunity to spend one and a half year conducting research on school education at one of several Japanese universities while it will be for one year for the Japanese Studies.
For Teacher Training, applicants must be 35 years of age and a graduate of college or teacher training college. You must have at least five years of active experience as a teacher in a primary, secondary or teacher training college in the Philippines. Please note that college and university teachers currently in active service are not eligible.
For Japanese Studies, applicants must be between the age of 18 and 30 years old. You must be enrolled as an undergraduate student in faculties or schools which major in Japanese language or culture in a university outside Japan at the time when they come to Japan and must be enrolled in the home institution at the time when they return to their home countries.
Applicants must prepare the following documents, Academic Transcript of Records and Certificates of graduation of school/university, Medical Certificate on Prescribed Form and Recommendation letter. The application process involves document submissions, screening, written exams, and interview.
