- US punk band Converge clarified that they are not the internet service provider with the same name
- Pinoy subscribers of Converge sent the complaints about having slow internet
- Many netizens soon apologized for the mistake
Hollywood punk band Converge was surprised to be at the receiving end of complaints about slow internet service.
Subscribers of Converge who were experiencing slow internet service decided to air their frustration on social media. But instead of tagging the telecommunications company for their complaints, many mistakenly tagged the punk band with the same name.
On Facebook, the band Converge decided to clarify the confusion and posted a screenshot of the angry comments they have been receiving. “Ang bo
bo niyo bat dito kayo nagrereklamo mga bo bo!” one comment said. “Hindi naman ito yung converge na internet,” said another.
Despite the an
ger being thrown at them, the punk band went on to send the Philippines a friendly message wishing everyone good internet access.
“Hey everyone… still just a hardcore band over here. Covid has not forced us to become an internet provider in the Philippines yet, but we hope everyone over there gets their internet access back,” Converge wrote.
“While you’re here though click the link to our webstore and grab yourself a cool T-shirt or something,” it added in jest.
Because of the clarification, the post quickly went viral with Pinoy netizens apologizing to the band for the confusion.
A netizen stated, “Thank you for being such a good sport, guys. That ISP was supposed to be the better ISP but it suddenly went bananas on us.”
Another wrote, “Apologies for the actions of my countrymen. I bet your delivery and response for the t-shirts would be faster than how our internet provider gives solutions to our internet problem.”
Another Pinoy netizen also apologized, “I am sorry about that it might be their internet connection they can’t see the profie pic if the internet is weak and it is not able to see for few seconds.”
