Toni Gonzaga’s leading man in the Philippine remake of the Korean blockbuster rom-com movie, “My Sassy Girl” has been named.
As anticipation continues for the fans of the beloved Korean film, a leading man has been named for the Philippine remake. On the social media accounts of TinCan Films, it says Pepe Herrera will play opposite Toni Gonzaga.
On Twitter, it was announced stating, “Grateful for your warm response for our Sassy Girl. Today, let us celebrate the guy who will tell her story. We are proud to share with you. Pepe Herrera as our leading man for My Sassy Girl. #MySassyGirlPH”
Along with the announcement are photos of Toni alongside Pepe in a few of the popular scenes from “My Sassy Girl.”
Known to be a TV, movie, and theater actor, Pepe is probably best known for his role as Benny in the ABS-CBN show “Ang Probinsyano.” He was part of the popular musical “Rak of Aegis” and has starred in several movies, including “Sakaling Hindi Makarating” with Alessandra de Rossi and “The Hope Romantic” with Ritz Azul, and the comedy “Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap.”
TinCan, which is producing the local remake of “My Sassy Girl,” is Toni’s film production company. The actress earlier revealed that starring in “My Sassy Girl” was her dream since 2006 when she first watched the film.
The original film is a critical and box-office success. It grossed $32.3 million at the box-office in East Asia.
