- Senator Bong Revilla said he is not involved in the non-renewal of Janine Gutierrez’s contract with GMA
- Last year, Janine expressed her disappointment over Revilla’s new show on GMA
- Revilla said he is a forgiving person and doesn’t dwell in the past
Senator Bong Revilla denied that he is involved in GMA’s decision not to renew the contract of Janine Gutierrez.
Recently, it has been reported that Janine is now moving on from being a Kapuso to being a new Kapamilya this 2021. While the reason remains unclear, it was said that there was no contract renewal between GMA and Janine’s camp. Netizens were quick to speculate that the reason might be because of Janine’s earlier tweet against Revilla.
It can be recalled that last year, Janine became a trending topic when she responded to a tweet of GMA announcing the senator-actor’s upcoming show.
She tweeted, “Oh God.” When a friend of hers laughed at her comment, Janine went on to reply, “‘Di ko kaya besh.”
A year after, Senator Bong was asked for his reaction during a press briefing. He said he had already brushed off the actress’ comment and said he doesn’t know what came out of it.
He said, “Walang masamang tinapay sa akin. In short, wala sa akin iyon. Kahit ano pa ang nangyari in the past, wala iyon, wala akong kinalaman doon.”
Senator Bong said the incident is now all water under the bridge and he wouldn’t even mind working with Janine in the future.
He admitted that he heard about the speculation that Janine’s tweet might have been the cause of the non-renewal of her contract with GMA.
“Meron akong narinig na ganun, pero sabi ko nga, ‘Bakit ako na naman?’ Unfair naman sa akin iyon. Huwag naman,” he said.
“Wala, wala, lalo na ako, I’m a very forgiving person,” he added.
