Former House Speaker Davao del Norte 1st District Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez said a few words on what the next President of the Philippines should be.
Alvarez laid down some of the key qualities that our nation’s next leader should be. In a statement, he said that the President should have the brains and the ability to lead.
The lawmaker said he is embarking on what he called a “voter education” advocacy and launched a movement to help the voters in choosing a true leader.
“We need a leader, a true leader, and not a pretender,” Alvarez said in his message during the launch of “We need a leader, 2022” movement in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
Alvarez went on to stress the several problems that the country is currently facing. From the COVID-19 pandemic, the disasters that affected parts of the Philippines and the challenges in the economy, Alvarez described it as, “Malaki at mabigat ang mga problemang hinaharap ng Pilipinas.
He asked, “Sino ang ihahalal natin na Pangulo sa taong 2022? Timbangin natin ang mga kandidato sa timbangan ng bayan.”

tak, pu so at damdamin, ba yag, at paninindigan. Sa makatuwid, may kakayahang mamuno,” Alvarez stated.
The solon said it’s important for a leader to be intelligent to know what’s good for the people. Next, it’s vital for a leader to have a heart that cares for all. A president should also have a word of honor and doesn’t easily change his mind.
“Kinakailangan ang may isang salita, hindi pwede ang atras-abante,” he stressed.
