A writer of the Kapamilya network called out Pinoy Big Brother host Toni Gonzaga for defending ex-housemate Russu Laurente.
Jerry Gracio, a senior screenwriter of ABS-CBN, chided Toni after she appealed to the public to forgive Russu for supporting the closure of ABS-CBN.
On Twitter, Jerry said that Toni doesn’t speak for all the other workers who were affected by the closure because she still has a job.
He tweeted, “Toni, libo ang Kapamilya natin na nawalan ng hanapbuhay. Ano ang karapatan mong mag-sorry sa ngalan ng isang housemate na pumabor sa pagsasara ng ABS-CBN?”
He went on to say that what Toni did was an insult to those who lost their livelihood due to the network’s closure. “‘Wag mong insultuhin ang mga Kapamilya na lumaban pero nawalan pa rin ng trabaho, di tulad mo na may trabaho pa rin ngayon.”
Russu earlier admitted on the show that he supported the closure because he was influenced by what he read on social media. He later on regretted his action and said he understood now the struggles of those who lost their jobs.
When he was evicted, Toni said his decision was made because he was still young.
“People are very quick to judge him, call him names and crucify him on social media because of it without realizing that at 19 years old, he doesn’t know the gravity of words spoken,” she said.
According to Toni, this will be a huge lesson for Russu to learn and hopefully will help him in the future.
