Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque Jr. is now a recording artist as he debuted his music video.
As the Christmas season is here, Roque said he has prepared a little something to the Filipinos amid the challenging year. Roque made his own rendition of the 1945 classic “Payapang Daigdig” as he appears in a music video released via his YouTube channel. As he introduced his music video, Roque said it is his simple gift to the Filipinos and recalled how the song was written decades ago.
“Hayaan ninyo iwanan namin kayo ng isang munting regalo. Ito po ay sinulat noong pangalawang pandaigdigan.
Bo mbahan po sa Manila noon pero nagkaroon po ng tigil bo mbahan at napaka tahimik po ng lugar noong panahon na yun…noong Paskong iyon,” said Roque.
He went on to greet everyone a Merry Christmas and extended his appreciation to the people who participated in his music video.
“Merry Christmas to all of you and I hope you enjoy our simple gift to all of you from the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson, from all church members who participated in doing this jingle ‘Payapang Daigdig.’ Merry Christmas to all of you,” said Roque.
Since there were many people who participated in the video, they assured that health protocols such as social distancing, wearing of face masks were strictly observed for everyone’s safety. The music video showcased scenic spots of the Philippines and featured several Palace staff members and ordinary citizens.
