After Duque has been pointed as the reason for the government’s missed COVID-19 vaccine deal with Pfizer, Pacquiao said maybe it’s time to find a new health secretary. He made an appeal to the President during an interview with ABS-CBN News Channel’s “Headstart.”

Pacquiao clarified that he is not saying that Duque is incapable, but there are also others who want to lead the DOH. He said it’s fair to give others a chance so that we can have a comparison of their leadership.

Pacquiao was among the senators who earlier filed a resolution asking Duque to step down from his post. Pacquiao said he couldn’t just sit down and be mum about the blunder of DOH.

“Sayang, dapat this January may vaccine na tayo, yung Pfizer. But masasabi natin na talagang kapalpakan yan ng ating DOH (Department of Health), si Secretary Duque. I’m sorry to say that, but prangka kasi ako magsalita e. Prangka ako magsalita na like I said, napapahiya ang ating Pangulo pagka ganun,” he said.
