- Robredo said donations reached over P55 million
- The Vice President said most donations had messages of support for her relief efforts
Vice President Leni Robredo shared that their donation drive for the victims of Typhoon Ulysses surged after she became the receiving end of the President’s tirade.
On Facebook, the Vice President shared her excitement that the Office of Vice President and its partner Kaya Natin Movement’s donation drive surged to over P50 million; shortly after she became a target of President Rodrigo Duterte’s tirade.
Robredo said the donations also had messages of support for her and her team for their efforts for those affected by Typhoon Ulysses.
She wrote, “After I was insulted and lambasted on national TV, our partners’ donation drive ballooned to P50M today. It is also the same with the in-kind donations we have been receiving at the office.”
“Most of the messages accompanying the donations are to the effect that they wanted to help the typhoon victims and it is their way of showing their appreciation for the kind of work that our office has been doing for our kababayans,” she added.
Robredo shared another update; saying that the donations to Kaya Natin continue to pour and has reached P5 million on November 19 alone, bringing the total to P55 million.
“Just learned that an additional P5 million was received by KN (Kaya Natin) overnight. Wow! That brings the total to P55 million. More communities will receive help,” said the Vice President.
Robredo also dismissed the critics of her office’s relief operations and urged her supporters to block them instead of engaging them. “But others are still busy trolling. Please don’t engage trolls. Just block them,” she said.
