Cainta Mayor Johnielle Keith Nieto has thought of a way to bring cheer to his town despite the cancellation of their fiesta.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to drag on, many festivities have been cancelled; among those are the popular town fiestas.
In Cainta, Rizal, residents still have something to look forward to as Mayor Nieto announced he will be giving away P1,000 to 300 lucky residents.
Mayor Nieto shared the good news on his Facebook page. He said he has alloted P300,000 to 300 residents who will be picked from among those who will send their comments to his own Facebook page. The giveaway will start on November 30 until December 1, the two feast days that are observed in the town in honor of their patron saints, Saint Andrew the Apostle and the Our Lady of Light.
Next year, babawi tayo, Pangako ko yan.”
The Mayor dubbed the initiative as “Cash Serye,” which is the latest among the series of giveaways from the local government. Mayor Nieto also earlier launched the “Siomai Serye,”“Pizza serye,” and “Chicken Wings Serye” with several lucky netizens getting the free food delivered to their doorstep.
