Manila Mayor Isko Moreno is thankful to Globe Telecom for deploying 10 school buses with wifi service to aid in distance learning.
Globe Telecom has equipped school buses with special antennas that can provide steady and good WiFi signal to residents in at least nine areas in Manila from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday.
According to Globe, the use of WiFi service will be free for the first hour for public school students and teachers who were provided 289,000 Globe SIM cards.
“Through the School Bus WiFi campaign, Globe also extends support to school bus operators whose main source of livelihood was put at stake by the pandemic,” Globe said.
The areas covered by the wifi buses are Pasaje del Carmen St., Remigio St., 853 Gonzalo Gil Puyat St., 924 Bilibid Viejo St., Tomas Mapua St., Alfonso Mendoza St., Dalupan St., Oroquieta St., and Basco St. in Manila.
Mayor Isko thanked Globe Telecom for their support.
He wrote, “Taos-puso po ang aking pasasalamat kina Ernest Cu, President and CEO ng Globe Telecom, at kay Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Chairman and CEO of the Ayala Corporation. Magagamit po ito ng mga estudyante at gurong nag-oonline class.”
He also reiterated the positive results of a good partnership between private and public sector.
He said, “Kapag nagtutulungan po at maganda ang relasyong ng pamahalaan at ang private sector, ang makikinabang po ay ang publiko. Patuloy po kaming magiging mainam, masinop, at episyente na pamahalaan. Manila, God First!”
