Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna have donated more than a thousand tablets for the benefit of students.
To better equip them for their online classes, Mayor Isko and VM Honey donated 1,010 tablets for those students from the “poorest of the poor” families. On Facebook, Mayor Isko shared a photo of their Samsung Galaxy Tab A donations.
He said, “Idodonate po namin ni Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna ang 1,010 pieces ng Samsung Galaxy Tab A devices sa mga mag-aaral ng ating Universidad de Manila mula sa mga ‘poorest of the poor’ families.”
Mayor Isko continued that the funds they used for the tablets were mostly from the talent fees he got from endorsements. He said they were able to raise over P8.8 million to procure the tablets.
He said they understood the plight of poor students, especially those enrolled in public schools as the education system shifts to virtual learning.
He continued that he wishes to help these students as their online classes will soon begin. Manila, God First!”
