First Filipino-made anime to spice up Netflix soon

Posted on the Facebook page of anime Barangay 143, they revealed the news that it will soon be available on Netflix, “Namiss niyo na ba sila Bren, Wax, Vicky, at Jinri? Makakasama niyo na sila ulit ngayon October 1, 2020 sa Netflix . Ito ang liga ng buhay!

Meanwhile, on Netflix Philippines Facebook page, it confirmed what was posted on Barangay 143’s facebook page saying, “Kitakits sa Barangay 143! You can watch this Pinoy anime on Netflix on October 1!

On this post, a lot of fans got so excited with the news and even called for support to the locals, “Let’s support local artist and to the team behind this anime.

There are fans who are also looking forward for the release of the anime series’ next season.

Barangay 143 is a Filipino-Japanese anime television series which was aired on GMA Network on October 2018. It was produced a full service animation studio based in Manila, ASI Studios, and TV Asahi.  The series is in collaboration with Synergy88 group and Singapore’s August Media Holdings.

The anime series features voices from local Filipino artists: Migo Adecer as Bren Park, Julie Ann San Jose as Vicky, Ruru Madrid as Wax, and other veteran actors and actresses in showbiz industry such as John Arcilla, Edu Manzano, Cherry Gil, Lorna Tolentino and many more.

The story is about a young man who came to Philippines in search of his biological father.

The anime series Barangay 143 won many awards such as: Best Animated Programme or Series (2D or 3D), Best Drama Series, Best Theme Song for the song “Liga ng Buhay” performed by Top Suzara and Harlem Ty in Asian Academy Creative Awards (Regional Awards) on 2019.

And on 2020 during the 24th Asian Television Awards it won the Best 2D Animated Programme and Best Theme Song for the song Alanganin which was performed by Kris Lawrence & Krizza Neri.
