Kapamilya host Bianca Gonzalez showed support for actresses Julia Barretto and Liza Soberano who separately filed a complaint and a case recently.

Bianca thanked Julia and Liza for standing up for themselves and for what they believe in. “Thank you @lizasoberano and @barrettojulia for  showing other women that you can fight for your boundaries, and there is a difference between a negative comment and an abusive comment. We stand by you,” she said in a tweet.

Julia, accompanied by her mother Marjorie Barretto, filed a complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation against former broadcaster Jay Sonza who was behind the fake news that she was carrying the child of actor Gerald Anderson.

She said she will not let the “untrue and irresponsible” statements made by Sonza slide because they caused distress to her and her family.

“Ang dami ko na ring pinagdaanan, ang dami ko na ring pinalagpas, lalo na sa social media. Binastos na ang reputation ko, ang pangalan ko. I think I just want to show people na hindi ko na pinapalagpas ‘yong mga bagay na ganito,” Julia explained.

“Mr. Sonza, and all those who published these reckless and baseless posts, must be held accountable for their actions so that they think twice before claiming things as fact.”

Liza, on the other hand, filed a case against a netizen who threw a rape joke on her.

“Wala tayong magagawa. Wala nang trabaho, kaya ‘di bale nang masira ang image, magkapera lang. Sarap ipa-r*pe sa mga…ewan,” the comment reads.

“I was really upset because of the fact that it is a rape joke. It is not something that should be taken lightly. And the fact that she is a woman, I would never in a million years do a joke like that,” pahayag ni Liza. “I want people to learn that there are consequences to everything, because that is not a light matter.”
