The viral private school teacher who was earlier spotted selling bread at a gas station has now built her own sari-sari store.
The photo of Teacher Lisa and her daughter Teacher Chelsey (not their real names) selling food at a gas station in Quezon City has touched many netizens. Many felt the plea for help of many teachers and also other workers who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19.
Many netizens extended their help to the displaced teachers until they were able to build their own sari-sari store.
According to Ayla Conda on the Facebook group Quarantine Tribute Tips, donations poured in for Teacher Lisa that she was able to build her own store and no longer needed to sell goods in the streets.
Teacher Chelsey, the daughter of Teacher Lisa, shared how thankful they are for the help of Ayla and her group.
They were just two of the many private school teachers who have lost their jobs after schools shut down due to COVID-19 pandemic. A financial aid has been proposed to help the teachers and personnel who were affected by the economic impact of COVID-19 in the country.
Teacher Chelsey earlier shared with ABS-CBN, “‘Yun lang po kasi best way na naisip namin kasi ‘di naman po sanay si mama sa online selling. Mas mabuti na po na ibaba na lang namin ang pride namin kaysa umasa sa iba.”
