Tatay Elmer Cordero is now excited over his own sari-sari store.
The 72-year-old jeepney driver who was earlier apprehended for joining a rally is now building his own sari-sari store; all thanks to kind-hearted individuals.
After many netizens empathized with the elderly driver who protested for the resumption of jeepneys amid the quarantine, Tatay Elmer received an outpouring of donations.
According to transport group Piston, Tatay Elmer also insisted on sharing the donations he received to his fellow drivers who still had no income since March.
Tatay Elmer also expressed his willingness to be part of other activities to help out other drivers. He had earlier shared how thankful he is with the blessings he received from those who cared for him.
“Maraming maraming salamat dahil parang lumubo na rin yung puso ko eh, nawala na yung kalungkutan ko. Medyo sumigla yung sarili ko. Di niyo ako napapapabayaan, lahat ng media ‘di kami pinapabayaan sa kulungan. Kaya maraming maraming salamat talaga, lahat ng tumutulong sa amin,” he said.
It can be recalled that Tatay Elmer extended his appreciation to Angel Locsin. He said the actress gave him assistance and essentials when he was in detention.
Tatay Elmer earlier said, “Maraming salamat Angel Locsin sa lahat ng itinutulong mo sa aming suporta sa loob ng kulungan pati ‘yung gamot tsaka alcohol. Lahat kumpleto, lahat ng mga tulong mo, maraming maraming salamat.”
