In the group’s statement via ABS-CBN’s MJ Felipe, they explained that it was difficult for them to continue because John has been uncooperative.

“Out of love for John Regala and deep concern about his deteriorating health, we have gone out of our way to look after him the past few weeks.” they stated.

“Sadly, no amount of effort on our part can help a very uncooperative and difficult individual. In addition, John’s terrible habit of constant and abusive self-medication is something we cannot condone or tolerate,” they continued.

The group said there were circumstances that have hindered them to continue extending their help to John.

“And so it is with deep sadness that our group has come to the decision to formally end our involvement in helping John with his medical treatment, care and recovery. As much as it is our desire to see this through, these unfortunate circumstances and regretful turn of events have made it impossible for us to continue,” they added.

The group said they have no regrets whatsoever for extending help to their fellow actor. They also announced that they will stop their fundraising immediately. All the funds left will be transferred to John’s second wife, Gina to help pay for John’s needs. A complete accounting of the funds raised and breakdown of expenses will be presented.

In the end, the group thanked everyone who reached out and extended their help to John.

“If not for all of you, John would not have been able to receive the proper treatment and urgent medical attention he needed in order to get better,” the statement said.
