Mel Tiangco shared that her birthday wish is for COVID-19 to be finally eradicated in the world.
The kapuso news anchor said she is wishing for a “miracle” as she celebrated her 65th birthday. She said she only has one wish and that is “healing for everyone” as the world continues to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Please perform a miracle for all of us. Please perform a miracle for all of the whole world. Tanggalin n’yo na po ang COVID,” Tiangco said.
She was also greeted by the staff of GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF), where Tiangco is considered the founder and ambassador.
Meanwhile, Tiangco and the GMAKF continue their service to the public amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Aside from encouraging the public to stay informed on health advisories, they also urged Filipinos to be “more sympathetic” to those in need through their recently-launched campaign “Labanan ang COVID-19.”
The campaign began their Information drive through a series of infomercials or videos featuring Tiangco herself. Other videos also feature other GMAKF advocates Rocco Nacino, Bea Binene, Patricia Tumulak, Sofia Pablo and Will Ashley.
The campaign discusses the guidelines set by the Department of Health (DOH) on COVID-19 symptoms, proper hand washing and use of face masks, and explains some of the commonly-mentioned terms such as home quarantine, close contact and social distancing. It aims to keep the public well-informed about the health crisis that we are facing.
