President Duterte on health workers’ plea: ‘Huwag kayo magsigaw-sigaw rebolusyon’

Following the controversial statements of President Rodrigo Duterte to the medical community’s plea, Angel expressed her support for the health workers. She reminded the government that the real enemy is COVID-19 and not the medical frontliners.

On Instagram, Angel posted, “Nung una, UP ang kalaban… Ngayon naman health workers.” She was referring to spokesperson Harry Roque earlier comment about “defeating” the University of the Philippines prediction of COVID-19 cases by the end of June.

Angel continued, “Pagsuporta ang kailangan. Hindi pagsindak. COVID po ang kalaban. Hindi ang mamamayan.”

The actress commended the efforts of healthcare workers and asked them to continue working for the public’s welfare.

“Patawad kung minsan ay pasaway. Ngunit nais iparating, kakampi niyo kami, health workers. Mag do-doble ingat para makagaan sa pasanin kahit paano. ‘Wag sanang panghinaan ang inyong loob,” she said.
