Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon shared her belief that if Angel Locsin runs for Senate, the actress could really win.
On Twitter, Guanzon shared that it’s possible for Locsin to become a senator if she decides to run. She retweeted one of Locsin’s tweet and wrote, “In my opinion, if Angel Locsin runs for Senator, she can win. Tatak Bisaya, Ilongga. Courageous, bright and with a sincere heart.”
Guanzon retweeted Locsin’s tweet about being a recipient of the Centennial Champion Award. Locsin was awarded by the Zonta Club of Makati & Environs, a global organization of professionals who push for women rights and empowerment through service and advocacy. The group recognized Locsin’s efforts, contributions and volunteer work.
Locsin shared a photo of her Centennial Champion Award and used a quote from Saint Teresa of Calcutta saying, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”
“Enjoyed meeting inspiring women on zoom earlier today. To Zonta Club of Makati & Environs, thank you for making me part of your event. I admire your passion in uplifting women’s liv
es and the community. More power to all of you,” she added.
Last May, Locsin clarified that she has no plans of entering politics. She said she would rather continue doing public service than run for a public seat.
She said, “Public servant naman po kami bilang mga artista, e. I think ‘yung buhay naman namin is very public. Lahat naman ‘to ginagawa namin, hindi lang para sa sarili namin, kung ‘di gusto namin magbigay ng entertainment sa mga tao.”
“Pero, politics? Hindi talaga. Sobrang hindi. Wala sa utak ko ‘yun,” she added.
