Bernadette is the latest Kapamilya personality who admitted that they have been retrenched as field reporter following the closure of ABS-CBN. Despite clarifying that she will remain to be a news anchor of TV Patrol, Bernadette said that losing that part of her still hurt.

In a post on Facebook, Bernadette reflected how things have changed for her. She said she received a call from a “superior” from her public service program “Lingkod Kapamilya” who informed her of the unfortunate news.

Bernadette said, “By noontime, I got a call from my superior, sa aking trabaho as a reporter for ABS-CBN. Yung mga ginagawa nating field work for Lingkod Kapamilya, iyon yung aking field work na assignment. That’s my staff work.”

“And I was told that I was retrenched. Masakit din,” she said.

In the video, Bernadette shared she realized how God is working to teach her to appreciate real happiness.

“Kung may kirot, may kirot. Kung may sakit, may sakit. Ang sabi ko, ‘Ang galing talaga ni God magbalanse ng buhay.’ Well, ang una kong naisip was, dapat talaga sa buhay, sakto lang. Para alam mo kung kanino pa rin nanggagaling ang totoong kaligayahan,” she said.

Meanwhile, Bernadette also shared how she found “one of her life‘s biggest surprises.” She said she is proud to be a songwriter.

Bernadette co-wrote the lyrics of the song, “Ang sa Iyo ay Akin” which was sang by Aegis and used as a theme song of the primetime series with the same name.
