“Tama na sa trapo!” Regine calls for electing true leaders in next elections

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is encouraging her followers to vote for true leaders in the upcoming elections.

The singer-actress took to social media her hopes that the Filipino people would choose leaders who will truly serve the public. She said that everyone has the power to choose true leaders in the next leaders.

Regine tweeted, “Sa susunod pong eleksyon nasa atin ang kapangyarihan ihalal ang mga nararapat na taong TOTOONG maglilingkod sa taong bayan. #wehavethepower #IbalikAngABSCBN #KapamilyaForever.”

Her tweet came amid the franchise debates of her home network, ABS-CBN.

In another tweet, Regine said it is high time that celebrities make use of their influence to help elect deserving leaders in the next election. She said she is saying a big no to grandstanding “traditional politicians” or the ones who are called “trapos.”

Regine tweeted, “Noon pa man kaming mga artista at singers na ang ginagamit para mangampanya. Gamitin natin ang impluwensya natin para maihalal ang mga nararapat. TAMA NA SA MGA TRAPO!”

She continued how she couldn’t believe that there are people who wish for the permanent closure of ABS-CBN at this time when there are so many companies who are closing down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Regine’s husband Ogie Alcasid also aired his own support for their home network, ABS-CBN.

On Instagram, Ogie wrote, “Though my stint with the network may not be as long as the others, I still share the same fear and anticipation of losing our jobs. It is a scary thought and an overwhelming feeling of deep sadness accompanies it.”
