- Piolo Pascual clarified that his decision to join Direk Joyce Bernal’s team has no political leanings
- The actor joined Direk Joyce’s team to film videos for President Rodrigo Duterte’s upcoming SONA
- He said as a citizen, he loves his country regardless of who the President is
Piolo Pascual took a stand to explain that his political view doesn’t reflect why he chose to join the Malacañang production team of Direk Joyce Bernal.
The actor defended himself from accusations that he is leaning towards a particular political side after he joined Direk Joyce’s team to film videos for President Rodrigo Duterte’s upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA). He said his decision to show support to Direk Joyce has nothing to do with the President.
On Instagram, Piolo wrote, “I haven’t met the President personally and I don’t do politics as some may know. I was there with Direk Joyce and my friend Illac Diaz to help Direk Joyce get footage for her personal message/video before the start of the SONA, showing how the environment has changed positively because of the pandemic.”
Direk Joyce’s team along with Piolo were rejected entry by Sagada and Banaue due to strict COVID-19 quarantine protocols. The team decided to go to Baguio City and lined up for the triage to get clearance for entry.
Piolo said that his love for the country goes beyond who the President is or any political party.
He said, “My association with Direk Joyce has got nothing to do with my political stand and as a citizen of this country. I love my country regardless of who the President is and I love my home network which is ABS-CBN.”
Instead of spreading h
ate, he’s encouraging others to show compassion and try to understand each other.
