TV5 chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said there is a possibility that their network would hire employees of ABS-CBN who lost their jobs following its closure.
As ABS-CBN shuts down, celebrities, personalities and other employees of the network have been voicing out their concerns as they have lost their jobs. Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa had earlier suggested that these affected employees could just look for jobs in other media networks.
One of the media networks in the country has already expressed their willingness to “absorb” the ABS-CBN workers. Pangilinan told The STAR that the network would need more people as it boosts its entertainment content creation.
“We are revving up our entertainment content creation and will need creatives, talents, directors, scriptwriters, cameramen, etc.,” he said.
Pangilinan said they would be willing to offer jobs to the affected employees of ABS-CBN. He said, “If these are willing and able to work with us, we’re prepared to offer alternative jobs for the relevant displaced workers over time.”
However, Pangilinan clarified that there are currently no talks yet directly between ABS-CBN and TV5.
The TV5’s willingness to hire celebrities of ABS-CBN had also been noted earlier by Pep. According to Pep Troika’s report, among the names being “floated” for a possible network transfer is the popular loveteam LizQuen of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil. Other shows being hinted to transfer were those under Direk Bobot Mortiz, possibly Goin’ Bulilit or Banana Sundae.
