Recently, many netizens took to social media to share their observation that the President looked unhealthy in his photo when he gave a talk to the troops during his visit to the Edwin Andrews Air Base in Zamboanga City.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque assured that the President’s frail-looking photo is a result of his concern and worry over the recent incident involving the four fallen soldiers at the hands of policemen on June 29 in Jolo, Sulu.

The spokesperson said the President took the incident personally and couldn’t even help but be emotional when he spoke with the troops.

“At some point, nagka-crack po iyong kaniyang voice at doon ko lang po nakita na talagang he took it very personal, itong nangyari po sa Jolo. That’s not health-related; it’s more of an emotional issue,” Roque added.

During his speech, Duterte appealed for “calm” and “understanding” between the army and the police as they await the result of the investigation on the June 29 incident. He assured that justice will be served for the fallen men.
