KidZania Manila will soon close its doors permanently to its patrons starting August 31.
After five years since it opened, KidZania Manila, the children’s theme park in Bonifacio Global City will end its operations by the end of August this year.
In a statement released by Play Innovations, a subsidiary of ABS-CBN, they made the unfortunate announcement. The statement reads, “With the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing community quarantine, we have complied and suspended oper
ations to prevent the further spread of the virus, which resulted to a massive impact on our revenues.”
“Even if we are allowed to oper
ate in the future, the ‘new normal’ will prohibit mass gathering and require children to remain at home. These conditions have left us with no choice but to close the play city’s doors permanently,” it added.
The officials said they feel for their employees and are doing their best to provide the necessary severance benefits to them.

KidZania Manila saw around 214,000 visitors in the first nine months of 2019, according to ABS-CBN. It has been closed since March 11 in compliance with quarantine protocols.
