Angel Locsin apologized to those she might have offended with her statements on the closure of ABS-CBN.
Angel has led rallies and noise barrages to protest the rejection of ABS-CBN’s franchise. At one point, Angel made a remark calling out Kapamilyas who refuse to speak up or join their rallies.
However, Angel, in one of her Instagram Stories, clarified that those times she encourages everyone to speak up, particularly her Kapamilyas regarding the fate of ABS-CBN, she did not actually mean that she wants them to join a rally.
“Uulitin ko, pag hinihikayat magsalita, hindi ibig sabihin nun mag rally na sa kalsada. There are many ways to support. Iba yung takot sa covid, iba yung ayaw lang talaga,” Angel said.
She went on to apologize for offending others but not because she asked them to speak up.
“Kung may na-offend, I apologize dahil nasaktan ko kayo. Pero hindi dahil sa sinabi kong magsalita kayo. Dahil kailangan talaga nating magsalita ngayon,” she continued.
Angel reiterated her point saying, “Uulitin ko, magkaiba po ang magsalita sa lumabas. Magkaisa tayo at huwag magpagamit.” The actress had earlier made a remark following Jane de Leon’s message that she would rather not risk going out to a rally as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
Without mentioning anyone, Angel said she never asked anyone to join a rally.
“No one asked you to go a rally. Obviously, you don’t need to go out to use your voice for the voiceless. But making up an excuse to save face at the expense of those who are fighting for their lives is purely disgusting,” said.
