The Philippines, located in the Pacific Ocean is a country with many islands forming an archipelago. The country is divided in three main areas: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Known for beautiful places and many beaches, the tropical climate of the country is one of the factors that made it more attractive to people from other nations.
Given the natural beauty of the Philippines, there are places in the country that became well-known not just to the locals but also to the people around the world.
On June 21, 2020 Department of Tourism celebrated the inclusion of today’s one of the Philippines’ pride to the Conde Nast Traveller’s (CNT). This tourist spot “Hidden Beach” in El Nido Palawan got its spot on the CNT’s 30 Best Beaches in the World. The list was released in the midst of the pandemic when most of the places in different countries around the globe were placed under lockdown.
Having the Hidden Beach in Palawan in the 20th place can be considered as light in the darkness. It was reported recently that the income coming from the tourism industry went down by 60% during the months when different places were put under lockdown.
From the DOT’s Facebook page, they quoted a statement from CNT saying that while the world is waiting for the time that they can finally travel again, they can consider thinking over their future summer getaways by “visiting one of the world’s best beaches.”
Being a Filipino, it is one of the many reasons why people should be very proud of the beautiful Philippines.
