- The auction was truly a success as it was able to raise over P700,000 on its first day
The auction fundraiser led by Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis has started its goal of COVID-19 testing.
The celebrities revived their “Shop and Share” auction to help raise for COVID-19 mass testing. Angel, Anne and other celebrities donated some of their personal items for auctions to help raise funds. To kickstart their program, the auction was able to procure 600 COVID-19 test kits for their first batch.
On the Instagram of Shop and Share team, they excitedly shared the good news. They wrote, “We’ve officially begun! Because of your overwhelming support we were able to provide 600 Covid-19 test kits for some of our stranded kababayans that reached out to us.”
“This is just the beginning and we promise to do our best to share the donations you have made to our kababayans that need it the most,” they added.
“Maraming maraming salamat po for supporting this cause. Stay tuned for more updates as we wrap up our online store Shop and Share in the next few weeks!” the Shop and Share team said.
The fundraiser was a success as it was able to raise P700,000 on their first day. More celebrities pitched in to donate items. Among the prized items auctioned was Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s candidate pin for the pageant which sold for P250,000 earlier this month.
Angel earlier said that their goal is to “allow testing opportunities for the poorer sectors in the hopes of helping out in the efforts to provide mass testing in the country.”
