The fans of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla showed that they are a “fandom with a cause” after they donated food packs to street dwellers affected by the community quarantine in Manila.
The Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) shared on their Facebook account photos of the donation made by the fans of KathNiel.
According to MPIO, “LOOK: The KathNiel Fandom and Mr. Alvin Mendoza have donated 400 food packs to the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW). The donation is intended for street dwellers sheltered by the MDSW at the Fugoso Sports Complex.”
Many netizens were impressed with the fandom’s generosity amid the health crisis. A netizen wrote, “The fandom that we need! Helping hand during this pandemic! Thank you KathNiel fans.”
Last March, just in time for Kathryn’s 24th birthday, the KathNiel fans also held a fundraiser for the benefit of those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Their “KathNiels Share the Love” fundraiser asked for a P26 donation, in reference to March 26, which is Kathryn’s birthday.
A fan wrote, “Kath @bernardokath and DJ @imdanielpadilla have inspired us in so many ways and helping those in need is one of them.”
Meanwhile, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have been known to keep their good deeds in private. Dreamscape AdProm Manager Eric John Salut earlier shared some photos of the actress’ meal donations to a barangay in Quezon City. Several fan accounts also kept posts showing Kathryn’s medical supplies donation to various hospitals.
