President Rodrigo Duterte has offered a generous amount to anyone who can give information on officials stealing the government’s cash aid.
Duterte has promised to give a P30,000 reward to those who would be able to give vital information that would lead to barangay officials or local officials who will be found guilty of corrupting the funds for the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) cash aid of the government.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced the President’s decision during the virtual meeting of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID). Roque said the President even named a barangay councilor from Hagonoy, Bulacan as one of the allegedly corrupt local officials.
Duterte had called out officials who are stealing from the government amid the continuing health crisis. He said, “Sinabi ko na sa kanila na kung may gagawin sila, ‘wag sa panahon ngayon.”
Roque said those who have information on corrupt practices of public officials involving SAP funds may call Hotline 8888.
Flores, the barangay official named by Duterte, allegedly took up to P3,500 from the P6,500 SAP cash aid of several beneficiaries, as posted in a Virtual Pinoy story earlier.
