Some 10,000 Davao residents were in for a treat as Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio distributed 10,000 Chickenjoy and softdrinks.

On Facebook, the official Facebook page of Davao City shared photos of the distribution of Mayor Sara’s reward.

They posted, “The City Government of Davao distributed 10,000 Jollibee chickenjoy packs to five districts of the city, Friday, May 29. The five winning districts recorded the lowest coronavirus cases since the lockdown — Baguio District, Calinan District, Tugbok District, Toril District, and Marilog District.”

“Each winning district received 2,000 pieces of chickenjoy with rice and drinks, a reward from Mayor Inday Sara Duterte for responding to her challenge on April 22, 2020 to keep coronavirus cases low,” the post added.

The Davao City government has classified its 182 barangays into levels of risk, advising residents not to venture into areas classified as “high risk” and “very high risk,” except when necessary.

Davao City is currently under general community quarantine from May 16-31 in adherence to the advisory of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID). After being under an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) for a month, the city already started easing down some of the lockdown measures to allow the reopening of business activities and offices.

“It doesn’t mean that we are on GCQ, you can freely go out and have a good time partying. The same measures are there. The only difference is that more people can go back to their work and mass transport will be made available,” Mayor Sara was quoted by PNA saying.
