A woman was apprehended after she admitted that she created a Facebook account in her husband’s name and used it to post threats against the life of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The fake Facebook post called Duterte a criminal who pushed for the closure of ABS-CBN. It even challenged the President to a brawl.

One post even showed a photo of the man doing a foul gesture as he continued to rant against the President. After the posts were traced to a security guard, he denied making the posts and pointed at his wife alias Shirley.

The National Bureau of Investigation’s Cybercrime Division was able to nab the woman behind the fake Facebook account. Shirley later admitted to making the account and tried to frame her husband owing to some marital problems.

The suspect said she was just angry at her husband and didn’t expect the posts to catch the attention of the authorities.

She later on apologized to the President and said she didn’t intend to use him to solve their marital issues.

“Mr.
