According to Inquirer Rapu-rapu Mayor Ronald “Boy” Galicia had donated the fish produce of his fish pond to his constituents. Harvested tilapia were loaded into two multicab vehicles and distributed to the people.
Galicia personally doled out three pieces of tilapia and one piece milkfish to each household of the municipality.
Ryte Niraga shared on Facebook, “Shout out po sa Mayor ng Rapu-rapu, Albay. Pina-harvest niya ang kanyang fishpond na puno ng tilapia at bangus, at eto ay libreng ipinamigay sa mga tao roon. Malaking tulong eto sa mga residente lalo na at naka-lockdown ngayon ang isla.”
Rapu-rapu comprises of three islands: Rapu-rapu Island, Batan Island and Guinanayan Island. Being an island, kind-h
earted individuals may face challenges going to the island. Hence, helping one another appears ideal while awaiting for more aid.
Niraga’s update has reached at 14,000 reactions, some 1,100 comments and about 35,000 shares as of posting.
