- Enchong Dee said it is our responsibility to express our political opinion
- He said he loves the country and his countrymen
- The actor said he has received offers to run for a political seat but he declined, saying he can still offer public service even without a position
Enchong Dee explained he has no qualms in expressing his political opinions on social media.
Politics is such a tricky topic to talk about that many celebrities often decide to keep mum about it. Enchong, however, believes it is within our rights to express our opinions about it, no matter how many critics we get.
He said, “It’s very important for me, first of all there’s a certain influence that are handed to celebrities. We have the power to make and affect change. And if you have that power try to use it for the good. Try to use it to benefit the majority.”
“So if we can make some changes along the way through social media or being active in socio-political issues. It’s supposed to be a responsibility,” Enchong added.
The actor added that it boils down to his love for the country and countrymen that motivates him to continue speaking up.
He told Pep, “Ako naman ang punu’t-dulo ko naman, mahal ko lang ang bansa. Gusto ko lahat ng Pilipino mayaman, gusto ko lahat tayo mayaman. Yun lang naman ang gusto ko e. And if I can do it in a way na wala ako sa gobyerno, mas okay ako. Yun na lang siguro ang gagawin ko.”
Enchong continued that he has received offers to run for a political seat but declined it.
He said, “Sa totoo lang ayoko talaga. Ang dami ring nagsasabi sa akin na tumakbo. Kasi yung public service pwede mo siyang gawin kahit hindi ka nakaupo e.”
